   I bought this because the cable that came with the toshiba external HD is too short (barely 1 foot). took a chance coz I didn’t know if the cable length would affect performance. hooked it up yesterday and my desktop can now see the drive. no more awkwardly located external HD.

   It’s a usb-mini to usb cable and it works; not much more to say. It’s rather long, too, which sometimes is handy.

   Worst thing that you will ever buy. Does not work at all!!! Do not, I say do not buy this..

   I purchased this cable for my Mio Moov GPS navigator to connect to my laptop so I could update maps, etc. I had read reviews about this cable being shorter than the listing indicated; that was not the case with my purchase. The cable has the feel of a quality cable i.e. a non-plastic insulation. The cost was at least 50% less than our local electronics store and from what could find at the chain stores, it was anywhere from 20%-40% less. Overall I would recommend this cable for it’s quality and it’s low price.

   The last reveiwer posted the cable length as 25 inches. I purchased this product because I was looking for a cable 3 feet or shorter, and 25 inches was plenty long enough for my purpose. The cables I received were 5 feet long, well over the stated length.

   I ordered TWO of these cables, both the online description, and the lable on the bag each cable was enclosed with claim this is a 3 foot cable. THREE Feet. My yard stick, and my carpenter’s rule measure them each at 25 inches end to end. When did or does 25 inches equal 3 feet?

   I’ve taken this little gizmo on travel a lot in the past month, and it works like a champ. Charges and Syncs my Pocket Pc without a hitch, and rolls back up with out a problem.    Compact and flawless operation. Much better than the long factory cable that was prone to tangling and cumbersome to store when traveling. I wish more cables came in this form factor. I use this one for both the Nokia and my Canon G6 camera.

   As an IT person who has worked in all sorts of places, and who has owned millions of cables, I have to say this is one of my all time favorites.

   The build quality is amazing. It reminds me of those extra fancy guitar cables I used to covet.

   It’s perfect for mounting and/or charging your smart phone, and for mounting little external laptop drives.

   I bought three, and I will probably buy a hundred more as the years go by.

   If you want a shorty little USB cable, this is the one to get, no question.

    These are the best quality cables I have purchased. They come with a high quality nylon woven fabric insulation over the plastic, that provides better abrasion control, and gives them a very high quality appearance. Gold plated connections prevent corrosion. Customer service from this third party supplier is among the best as well. First class all around.

    This is the perfect length to plug your phone into your laptop so you can charge on the go without bringing two wall chargers.

    very pleased with the product, buying it at the store would have cost me 15.00 more than I paid for it at amazon.com so I am very pleased with my purchase.

    First off, this product works flawlessly for our phones - a smart phone and a blackberry curve. There are zero issues whatsoever for those. That said, as other reviewers have pointed out, some portable hard drives use the same pin configuration yet do not receive enough power through this cable to run. I would have to speculate as to why - just be aware that this is not the right choice for most hard drives, unless it has a separate power cable. With the separate power cable our hard drive runs fine. With the original cable, it ran off just the 5-pin mini without the separate power cable.

    I lost the cable to my Garmin Venture the first week I had it, but found that the cable to my Canon A80 worked just as good. I bought this cable so I’d have a cable for each device, and saved twenty-four bucks vs the “factory” cable.

    These cables were to be used as extenders. Works just fine. Delivery was slow, but I got them.

    Not sure what the problem is, but this cable will not work with either of the two Western Digital Passport drives I tried. It works with a Nikon D200, so it isn’t just “broken,” but it will not spin the drive in the Passport. Other USB cables of the same length, plugged into the same ports, work perfectly.

    In the description for the USB cord I purchased it list my camera as one that the cord would fit. However, it was not the right cord.

    When I discovered at an inoportune moment, that my camera cable was missing, I turned to amazon for a solution. This cable was the exact type that I needed; the listed specifications were a predcise description of the cable that arrived. Shipping was timely and the price was right. Within a couple of days, I was uploading the photos I’d promised.

    I needed a cable to take to work for my MP3 player. This worked great. No problems.
